Introducing Professional Invertebrate Colony Establishment Services

If you’re seeking to establish a thriving invertebrate colony, encompassing insects and spiders, but lack the necessary expertise or time to do so effectively, your search ends here. We proudly offer the services of an experienced entomologist with 9 years of specialized knowledge in reproducing invertebrate colonies for the CSIRO. Having extensively traveled and supported numerous scientists in launching their colonies, we are now ready to assist you in establishing your very own invertebrate colony, be it for invertebrate augmentation in agriculture fields, scientific experiments, or any other purpose. Our methods align with those employed by reputable scientific companies, ensuring reliable and successful outcomes.

We understand that each invertebrate species has unique care requirements, and we are well-versed in catering to their individual needs. For well-known insects with established protocols, like green mirids, production can commence immediately. However, for more challenging species, we kindly request a 3-month trial period to fully comprehend their breeding capabilities. In instances where information is limited or complex labor protocols are involved, additional time may be necessary to develop effective reproduction methods for the invertebrates. However, we firmly believe that with diligent experimentation, we can achieve successful reproduction for any invertebrate species, even creating custom diets tailored to their specific needs. Furthermore, we provide the necessary enclosures, which are custom-made to ensure optimal conditions for the invertebrates. Note, in order to protect our work, we will not be releasing protocols on how we reproduce our Invertebrates.

Our services start at a minimum cost of $300 per week (spiders and other predatory will cost more), in addition to the cost of food for the invertebrates, for a standard insect colony such as a couple thousand green mirids. Payments will be automatically deducted on a weekly basis. A minimum trial period of one month is required before discontinuing our services. Please note that certain colonies may require more labor-intensive efforts, resulting in an increased price. After the trial period, we will provide you with detailed pricing information, and trial periods themselves will be billed at the standard rate of $300 per week. The cost of food for the invertebrates will be discussed, and as the colony grows, the pricing will be adjusted accordingly. It’s essential to mention that the cost of food for the insects will be supplied at cost without any additional charge for procurement. In cases where the invertebrate is a predatory species that exclusively feeds or reproduces on a specific invertebrate or invertebrate egg, you will be responsible for purchasing the respective invertebrate colony as well. However, special arrangements can be made to offer a second colony of host insects at a reduced price. We will ensure the provision of all necessary enclosures for the insects, as custom-made enclosures are typically required.

When contacting us, kindly provide the desired quantity of invertebrates needed and the frequency at which you require them. Additionally, inform us of the duration during which you would like us to oversee the colony. While an indefinite timeframe is an option, a two-week notice will be required for termination. You will need to provide the initial invertebrates to initiate the colony, and the quantity you provide will determine the rate of population growth. If necessary, we can discuss the collection of invertebrates on your behalf. Should you have specific requirements for the reproduction of the insects, such as for an experiment, please inform us, and we will conduct a trial period to determine the feasible reproduction rate. On occasion, we may request additional invertebrates to be sent to us to enhance the gene pool and ensure a healthy population. Invertebrates will be shipped to your location via Australia Express Post for a fee of $15. Alternatively, for an increased cost, you can opt for TNT overnight shipping. While all invertebrates can be returned to you after the contract ends, the enclosures will not be included.

As a precautionary measure, we will establish multiple breeding enclosures to mitigate the risk of a population collapse. Rest assured, if there is a decline in the supply of invertebrates, we will promptly notify you. While it is highly unlikely, in the event of a disease outbreak or any unforeseen factor leading to a complete collapse of all populations, we will suspend payments. At that point, you have the option to engage in a discussion about initiating a new colony or terminating the contract. We prioritize transparency and will guide you through the available alternatives to ensure your satisfaction.

Sincerely,

Outback Bugs.
